About Us
The Monster Store was founded in 2009, however the original inspiration and passion for the business came from watching a plethora of movies at a young age. The fascination with Monsters started in the late seventies and eighties with movies such as; Bladerunner, John Carpenters Halloween, The Thing, The Fog, Clive Barker’s Hellbound : Hellraiser 2, The Terminator, The Star Wars Trilogy, David Lynch's Dune, Superman, Legend, An American Werewolf In London by John Landis, Spielbergs Jaws, Jim Henson’s Labyrinth and Dark Crystal, The Muppet Movies, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory as well as re runs of old Hammer Horror and Universal Movies. The passion continues today through films such as The Avengers, Ridley Scott's Prometheus, J.J. Abrams Star Trek 2, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, Rob Zombie’s Devils Rejects, Tron Legacy, Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings / The Hobbit, Coraline, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds, Chuck, True Blood, Misfits, Dexter and many more.
The Monster Company was conceived after selling childhood Star Wars collections and we gained knowledge about the Monster Business whilst working for the infamous company ‘Creatures Unlimited’. The excitement and enthusiasm (which is still evident today) of the big and small screen, along with associated collectibles motivated us to found ‘The Monster Company’ in 2003 followed by ‘The Monster Store’ in September 2009 until 31st March 2012. We have been dealing with movie related collectables for over 23 years and have built and continue to build an online business along with a wealth of knowledge and market contacts, beneficial to both collectors and dealers alike.
Our company philosophy is to provide high quality, exciting and hard to find collectibles to the fans of the movies, T.V. and games. We are driving the business vehicle forward through innovative and efficient practices, bringing knowledge and resources back into the industry and community to create new opportunities. Our advertisements, posters and leaflets across the city of Nottingham can be found in establishments such as The Model Zone, Mondo Comico, Twisted Playground, Non Stop (Skate Shop), The Warsaw Diner, Hand and Heart Pub / Restaurant and Le Chein Et Moi.
The Monster Store has been a sponsor to Danse Macabre (Nottingham) as well as Kneel Before Zod Movie Club (playing obscure movies to include Troll 2, Xtro, The Room, Hercules In New York, Friday The 13th Part III in 3D). The Monster Company and Store has helped media and film undergraduates with assignments and post graduates with their work. We have previously and continue to involve ourselves in British Independent film making with our wealth of movie industry contacts, to include credited actors, directors, producers, special effects experts, prosthetic and make up artists, prop makers etc. Our credits include An American Werewolf In London (‘Beware The Moon ‘Remembering An American Werewolf In London’), Hellraiser and Hellbound : Hellraiser 2 Blu Ray and DVD.
